When the Opportunity Has a Deadline and the Bank Does Not
Some opportunities are priced precisely because they are inconvenient. A distressed lot, a retiring competitor, a supplier clearing stock. They reward whoever can move.

Estimate only. Final advance rate and terms are confirmed after your collateral is inspected and verified. Spot prices are indicative and move continuously. Minimum loan is $15,000 (about $23,077 in collateral value at our 65% rate).
These are business-purpose loans and are not offered for personal, family or household use. Not available in Nevada, Vermont, North Dakota and South Dakota. If metal prices fall materially we may contact you about adding collateral or paying down the balance to keep the loan-to-value in range.
Why it comes up
The pressure this solves
These are almost never financeable by conventional means, because the thing being bought is unusual, the timeline is short, and the seller wants certainty rather than an approval letter.
Why borrowing fits here
- Certainty of funds, which is what the seller is actually buying from you.
- No underwriting of the opportunity itself — we do not need to like the deal.
- Days to fund once collateral is verified.
- Clear it from the proceeds and pay only the interest you used.
How borrowers usually structure it
This is the case where the 65% advance matters most. On $200,000 of metal you are looking at up to $130,000 available against an asset you were not going to sell anyway.
Collateral
What you can pledge
Gold Bars
Kilo, 10 oz and 1 oz bars from recognized refiners. Your specific bars are segregated and returned, not equivalent metal.
Explore →
Gold Coins
Sovereign issues are valued on gold content at spot. Collector premium is not lent against, which is worth knowing first.
Explore →
Numismatic & Graded Coins
Graded coins are assessed on certification first and metal second. Nothing is cracked out, cleaned or reholdered.
Explore →
Silver Bullion
Silver is the worst metal to liquidate in a hurry, which is exactly why borrowing against it beats selling it.
Explore →
Platinum & Palladium
Thinner markets that move harder than gold, so the advance may be set more conservatively at verification.
Explore →
Mixed Portfolios
One valuation, one term and one payment across several metals, with price risk spread wider than a single-metal pledge.

Timing
The clock on this
Opportunity borrowing is defined by the fact that the clock is not yours. A lot, a parcel, a distressed purchase or a competitor's closing stock appears with a deadline attached, and the reason this instrument exists is that approval turns on metal you already hold rather than on weeks of underwriting. That speed is genuinely the product. It is also exactly what makes this the easiest use to get wrong.
Said plainly
Cheaper things to try first
There is rarely a cheaper alternative that moves this fast, which is the point — but speed is not a reason to skip the arithmetic. Before borrowing, be able to state the buyer or the margin, not the hope of one. Borrowing against a certain asset to chase an uncertain return is the single most common way a sound business gets into trouble, and no lender should pretend otherwise. If you would not take the deal with your own cash sitting idle, do not take it with a loan.
