Financing Coin and Bullion Dealer Inventory
For a dealer, inventory is not an investment — it is working capital that happens to be shaped like metal. Borrowing against it is how you buy the next lot without discounting the last one.
No credit check and no obligation. Business purpose only.

These are business-purpose loans and are not offered for personal, family or household use. Not available in Nevada, Vermont, North Dakota and South Dakota. If metal prices fall materially we may contact you about adding collateral or paying down the balance to keep the loan-to-value in range.
How this collateral is handled
Dealers already understand loan-to-value, spot, and spread, so these conversations are short. The usual pattern is a standing facility against a core position, drawn when a buying opportunity appears and repaid as stock turns.
Worth knowing before you ship
- Dealers understand LTV already — no education needed, just terms.
- Borrow against the slow-moving core, not the fast-turning display stock.
- Repay from the turn with no prepayment penalty.
- Common alternative to discounting inventory to raise cash for a buy.

Expansion & New Locations
A second location is a forecast, and forecasts underwrite badly. The collateral here is present-tense, so no plan is needed.

Opportunity Capital
Distressed lots and retiring competitors reward whoever can move. We underwrite the metal, not whether we like the deal.

Seasonal Cash Flow
Fund the trough without spending the reserve, then repay out of the season. Collateral can stay vaulted between draws.

Valuation
How this is valued for lending
Dealer inventory is valued as trading stock rather than as a static holding, and that changes the structure more than the arithmetic. The stock turns, so the arrangement has to accommodate items leaving and arriving instead of assuming a sealed position. Valuation therefore leans on recognizable, liquid material — the widely traded coins and bars a dealer moves constantly — rather than on the slow-moving or specialist end of the case.
The exposure
What moves against you
The specific exposure here is the one every dealer already knows: capital tied up in stock that has not sold yet, at prices that keep moving. Borrowing against inventory does not remove that exposure, it finances it, which is powerful when turnover is genuinely strong and dangerous when it is not. If inventory is slow because demand has softened rather than because cash is tight, adding leverage makes the underlying problem larger. That is worth being honest with yourself about before it is worth discussing terms.
FAQ
Common questions
- Can I keep trading while it is pledged?
- Pledged metal is vaulted for the term. Pledge the core position you were not going to sell, not the display case.
- Is there a facility rather than a one-off?
- Talk to us. Repeat borrowers usually keep collateral vaulted between draws.
- Do you buy inventory too?
- Yes, though that is a separate conversation. The point of the loan is that you do not have to sell.
